The iconic woodlouse that everyone knows was first described by Linnaeus himself! At 16mm long, it's one of the largest woodlice you'll find in Europe and the British Isles. These creatures have become remarkably good at living alongside humans โ€” you'll find them in gardens, walls, and even inside houses, thriving wherever there's moisture. They're the archetypal "woodlouse" of popular imagination, hiding under rotting wood and leaf litter in damp spots.
