The name says it all: look for the small central black dot on each hindwing. This tropical moth is a true globe-trotter, thriving across Asia, New Guinea, Africa, and Australia. Known to science for over 250 years—Linnaeus himself documented it in 1767—it's one of the few insects that hasn't changed its field marks in centuries. That distinctive dot is unmistakable once you know what to look for.
