Small but mighty, this delicate Lycaenidae butterfly is built on a tiny scale—which is why it's so easy to overlook despite its striking green coloration. The "green hairstreak" name is as straightforward as it is descriptive, capturing both the brilliant green hue that defines the species and its small, hair-thin size. This family, known as the "gossamer wings," lives up to their poetic nickname with wings so delicate they seem barely substantial enough to hold air. Despite their fragility, these little fliers are surprisingly robust survivors.
