A member of the Heliconiinae subfamily, this fritillary belongs to the genus Euptoieta. Found in the Neotropical ecological zone, it inhabits the rich biodiversity of Central and South America. These butterflies are celebrated within the Heliconiinae for their intricate wing patterns and striking coloration. The genus represents some of the most visually impressive fritillaries of the tropical Americas.
