This small scorpion reaches just 35–55 mm in length, making it easy to overlook. The stripetail scorpion is found in Mexico and the southwestern United States, where it inhabits arid regions. The "stripetail" name refers to characteristic striped markings along its tail—a telltale sign if you spot one. Despite its diminutive size, it's a notable member of its regional ecosystem, proof that you don't need to be huge to have a presence in nature.
