While most scorpions demand heat, this species shatters the stereotype. The northern scorpion is the only scorpion found in Canada and the northernmost scorpion species on Earth. It also boasts one of the broadest geographic distributions of any North American scorpion. This cold-tolerant pioneer transformed the frozen north into scorpion territory, proving these arachnids are far more adaptable than their heat-loving reputation suggests.
