A stunning Southeast Asian endemic, this planthopper earned its name from its distinctive appearance: a reddish-brown head and thorax topped with a curved, flattened snout that resembles a tiny lantern. Found only in Burma, Thailand, and the Karen Hills of India, it's geographically isolated and highly specialized.

Lanternflies as a group are among nature's most bizarrely beautiful insectsβ€”their wild appendages and patterning look almost alien. This species is a perfect example of why exploring regional insects reveals endless wonders in form and adaptation.
