These tiny nocturnal performers spend their nights in oak trees, singing loud calls that seem impossible from such a small body. Like all bush crickets, this species has extraordinarily long antennae โ sometimes longer than its body โ which serve as sensitive feelers and ears combined. The males produce their characteristic calls by rubbing their wings together, a process called stridulation that creates surprisingly loud acoustic displays. Found across southern regions, this oak specialist is perfectly adapted for its tree-dwelling life, blending seamlessly into foliage while broadcasting its presence through sound.
