Named for a figure from Greek mythology, this species moves with rapid, energetic flight through forest canopy, earning its bouncy reputation. This Asian skipper butterfly darts between tree branches in South and Southeast Asia, using powerful wing muscles and surprising agility to navigate dense vegetation. Skippers in general are known for their speed and directness of flight, and this species epitomizes that reputation—fluttering quickly from tree to tree in search of nectar plants. Though small and easily overlooked, it's the aerial acrobat of the Asian butterfly world.
