Don't let the technical name fool you—while 'black marsh skimmer' sounds modest, the 'light-tipped demon' nickname perfectly captures this species' fierce personality. It hunts with aggressive, darting flight and defends territory with intense ferocity.

Found in marshes and wetlands of India, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, it's a bold, tireless predator that hunts throughout daylight hours. Males perch prominently and chase off rivals with characteristic demon-like aggression. This species truly earned its fearsome nickname through sheer territorial dominance.
