Look closely at those vivid yellow rings on the legs—they're basically a neon sign distinguishing this species from its close cousin, which has much paler leg bands. Originally from the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso and Rondônia, it earned the "pinktoe" nickname for its distinctive rosy coloration. The striking color contrast makes it a favorite among tarantula enthusiasts, and that visual difference is exactly what scientists use to tell it apart from look-alikes.
