This tiny web pirate specializes in theft like no other spider on Earth. Up to 45 of these spiders can crowd onto a single host web, where they systematically steal prey that other spiders have already caught and wrapped. Each heist is lightning-fastβ€”never exceeding 12 secondsβ€”and nearly always successful. Even more bizarre: males court females by presenting a silk-wrapped prey item as a nuptial gift, a romantic ritual among thieves that makes this species truly unforgettable.
