These daytime flower visitors are walking works of abstract art. Measuring just 10-15 millimeters, they're decorated with striking white dots and lines on jet-black bodies, creating a pattern so distinctive that scientists can tell each species apart just by looking at the arrangement. You'll find them active during daylight hours, hovering over flowers and feeding.
No two species have the same spot pattern, making them a living puzzle for entomologists and photographers alike. Spot one on a flower and you've found a beetle with a fingerprint as unique as any in nature.
Think you can identify this one in the wild?
