The "flattened" in the name tells the whole story—this jumping spider evolved a distinctly compressed body shape that lets it slip into tight crevices and under bark where prey hides and predators can't follow. Like all jumping spiders, it has forward-facing eyes and sees in color, giving it vision quality that's almost alien compared to most spiders.
Remarkably adaptable across North and Central America, this specialist thrives in diverse habitats where its flattened profile and explosive jumping power make it the perfect ambush predator in spaces other hunters can't reach.
