This butterfly has earned itself multiple regional nicknames depending on where you look: the common crow, common Indian crow, or Australian crow. What really sets it apart is that it belongs to the famous "crows and tigers" subfamily Danainaeโ€”a group known for being toxic to predators and flaunting their poison with bold, warning colors. It's a globe-spanning traveler from South Asia all the way to Australia, one of the most widely distributed butterflies in its range. A true cosmopolitan of the butterfly world.
