The gender size gap here is absolutely bonkers: females tower at 25-50mm while males are just 4-6mm—roughly the size difference between a human and a flea. The second-largest orbweaver on Earth begins life covered in dense hairy brushes on its legs, which mysteriously vanish as the spider matures. Found across East and Southeast Asia, it spins golden webs that can span entire garden corners.
