Here's a record-holder that deserves celebration: this emerald dragonfly lives farther north than any other dragonfly species on Earth. Found at high latitudes across the boreal forests and tundra of northern Eurasia and North America, these hardy emeralds are masters of extreme cold. While most dragonflies stick to tropical warmth, this one proves the order can conquer the frozen far north, thriving where few other insects dare venture.
